Arizona is considered a pivotal state in 2020 national politics. Most political analysts consider it the prime “battleground state” in the Senate and Presidential elections.  One Senate seat, currently held by Republican Martha McSally, is in play.  The likely Democratic challenger is former astronaut Mark Kelly.  Eleven Electoral College votes are up for grabs. 

 

Arizona is currently a Republican “trifecta.”  The Governorship and both houses of the Arizona Legislature are Republican-controlled. However, if 3 seats are “flipped” Democratic in the Arizona State Senate, Democrats will hold a majority.  If 2 seats are flipped Democratic in the State House of Representatives, Democrats will hold a majority. 

 

Expanding voter registration and increasing voter turnout are key to bringing change to our state and advancing the issues our members care about. Stand Indivisible AZ is actively engaged in a variety of Voter Registration activities, including encouraging voters to sign up for the Permanent Early Voting List (PEVL).
